Jutsu Guessr shows you a short looping clip of a technique in action and asks two questions at once: what is the jutsu, and who is using it? You only win when both answers are right in the same guess, so recognising a crackle of lightning is not enough. You also have to know whose Chidori it is.
The daily clip comes from a pool tied to the era you pick. Naruto (Part I) mode sticks to the original series, with techniques like the Rasengan, the Shadow Clone Jutsu, Sand Coffin, the Primary Lotus and Tsukuyomi. Shippuden mode moves on to Sage Mode, Amaterasu, Susanoo, Kamui and the rest of the later saga. The two pools never share a technique, so switching eras gives you a different puzzle rather than a bigger one.
How to Play Jutsu Guessr
Watch the clip. Each round starts in Hard mode, which shows the clip in black and white with a light blur. If you need help, switch to Easy to see it in full colour; the toggle is there whenever you want it.
To guess, type the character's name (the list only offers characters who have a clip in your era) and choose the technique from the ability dropdown, which likewise only lists that era's jutsu. Press Submit Guess. Your guess is marked in two halves, character and ability, each shown as right or wrong.
You have three attempts to get both halves right together. Giving up takes two taps, so you cannot end the day by accident. The clip changes at midnight UTC, your streak grows with each solved day, and signed-in players are ranked on the daily leaderboard.
Tips for Naming the Jutsu and Its User
Keep the half you got right. Because the character and the ability are judged separately, a guess with a correct character and a wrong jutsu tells you exactly what to change. Spend your next attempt swapping only the wrong half instead of starting over.
Watch out for shared and repeated techniques. In Part I, the Chidori clip can belong to Sasuke or to Kakashi, so look at the user's build, hair and clothing, not only the lightning. Naruto has several entries, including the Rasengan, the Shadow Clone Jutsu and Sage Mode, so recognising him is only half the answer.
In black and white, rely on shape and motion: a spinning sphere, a wave of sand closing in, a towering armoured figure or flames that spread like ink. When two techniques look alike in grayscale, switch to colour before you spend your final attempt, because a black flame and an orange fireball are hard to confuse once the colour is back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it called Jutsu Guessr or Jutsu Guesser?
Both names refer to the same game. It lives at /games/ability-guessr and shows a daily Naruto technique clip.
How many attempts do you get?
Three. Each guess needs both the character and the ability to be correct at the same time.
Does switching to colour mode affect my result?
No. The colour toggle only changes how the clip is displayed. Your result depends on how many attempts you need.
Why doesn't the dropdown list Susanoo or Amaterasu?
The ability list follows your era. Part I mode only includes techniques from the original series; switch to Shippuden for the later ones.
Is there a new jutsu every day?
Yes. A new clip is chosen at midnight UTC for each era.
