Guess the Quote

Daily

Guess the Quote gives you one line of dialogue a day and a simple question: which Naruto character said it? The lines are original, written in each character's voice rather than copied word for word from the anime or manga, but they lean on everything that defines them: Naruto refusing to break a promise, Shikamaru finding everything troublesome, Might Guy's speeches about youth and Neji wrestling with fate.

It is a Naruto quiz about personality more than power. The current pool holds dozens of lines from more than thirty characters, from Team 7 and the Sannin to Akatsuki members like Kisame, Deidara and Kakuzu. In Naruto (Part I) mode, lines that depend on later revelations are held back, so nothing is spoiled if you are still watching the original series.

How to Play Guess the Quote

Read the quote and type the name of the character you think said it. The autocomplete only lists characters who have lines in your era's pool, and a guess has to match one of those names.

You have four attempts. Each wrong answer is added to the list below the quote so you can see what you have ruled out, and you cannot pick the same character twice. If you are stuck, the Show hint button reveals a short clue about the speaker, and using it does not cost an attempt.

A correct answer shows who said the line and adds to your streak; running out of attempts or giving up reveals it. Everyone playing the same era sees the same quote, a new one arrives at midnight UTC, and signed-in players who solve it appear on the daily leaderboard, ranked by attempts and time.

Tips for Working Out Who Said It

Listen for the theme before the words. Revenge and clan legacy point toward the Uchiha, especially Sasuke and Itachi. Hard work against natural talent is Rock Lee territory, destiny and the branch family belong to Neji, and talk of pain, peace and a cycle of hatred suggests Nagato. Art, explosions and impatience with slow craftsmanship split between Deidara and Sasori.

Look for the details a speaker could only know. A line about gambling debts, a sensei from long ago or a village led from the front narrows the field quickly. Mentions of the war, of reanimation or of a village's past Kage are strong hints that you are in Shippuden territory, while lines about genin teams and exams tend to belong to the original series.

Keep the hint for when you are down to two candidates. It is free, but it is most useful when it breaks a tie. The autocomplete is also worth a glance: the pool is small enough that scrolling the names can remind you of a character you had not considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the quotes taken directly from the anime?

No. The lines are original, written in each character's voice and built around their personality and story, so knowing the characters matters more than memorising scripts.

How many attempts do you get in Guess the Quote?

Four. Wrong guesses are listed under the quote, and each character can only be guessed once.

Does using the hint cost anything?

No. The hint is a short clue about the speaker and it does not use up an attempt.

Which characters can appear?

More than thirty characters, including Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Itachi, Gaara, Madara and Nagato. In Part I mode, only lines that fit the original series are used.

When does a new quote appear?

Every day at midnight UTC. Your streak grows each day you find the speaker.
