Narutodle is the daily Naruto character guesser at the heart of this site, and the game most people mean by a Naruto dle. One shinobi is hidden each day and you have eight attempts to guess the Naruto character. Every guess is compared with the answer across eight columns, so even a miss tells you a lot about who you are hunting for.
The roster covers the original Naruto and all of Shippuden, up to the Fourth Shinobi War and Kaguya, and you choose which of the two eras you want to play. Each era offers three difficulties, Easy, Hard and Impossible, and each one is a separate daily puzzle with its own answer, streak and leaderboard. Easy draws from the most famous faces, while Impossible reaches deep into the supporting cast.
How to Play Narutodle
Type at least two letters of a name and pick a character from the suggestions. Your guess appears as a row of tiles: Village, Gender, Rank, Affiliation, Clan, Arc, Sage Mode and Power. The suggestions cover your era's whole roster, so browsing them gives nothing away.
A green tile means that attribute matches the hidden character exactly, and a red tile means it does not. Rank is the one column that can turn orange: that happens when your guess sits one step away on the rank ladder, for example a Genin guess against a Chūnin answer, or a Sannin against a Kage. The Power tile shows an arrow instead of a colour, pointing up when the answer is stronger than your guess and down when they are weaker.
After three guesses you can reveal the answer's affiliation, after five a blurred portrait, and after seven the first letter of their name. The puzzle resets at midnight UTC, and if you are signed in, your attempts and solve time are posted to the daily leaderboard for that difficulty.
Tips for Solving Narutodle in Fewer Guesses
Open with a character whose answers split the field. Village is the widest cut: roughly a third of the roster belongs to Konohagakure, so a Hidden Leaf opener that comes back red immediately points you toward Suna, Kiri, Kumo, Iwa, Oto, Ame or the characters with no village at all.
Treat the Power arrow like a binary search. If the arrow points up from a jōnin, jump to a Kage-level fighter next rather than creeping upward one rank at a time. Sage Mode is the rarest yes in the game, shared by a small group such as Naruto, Jiraiya, Minato, Hashirama and Kabuto, so a green Sage Mode tile narrows the list more than almost any other column.
Remember that attributes follow the era you are playing. In Part I, Sasuke is a Team 7 genin; in Shippuden his entry reflects where he ended up, and many characters gain a higher rank or a new affiliation after the timeskip. On Hard and Impossible, take the affiliation hint as soon as it unlocks.
