Naruto Tic Tac Toe is a three-by-three character grid in the style of Immaculate Grid puzzles. Three rules run down the side of the board and three across the top, drawn from villages, clans, ranks, chakra natures, kekkei genkai, jutsu types, status and power, and every square needs a shinobi who satisfies both the rule on its row and the rule on its column. Who fits where the Hidden Mist meets Water Release, or where the Uchiha Clan meets Deceased?
There are two ways to play. Solo is the daily puzzle: one board shared by everyone in your era and ranked by time. Versus turns it into real tic-tac-toe for two players on the same device, where claiming a square means naming a valid character. Naruto and Shippuden use different rosters and different rules, so each era plays like its own game.
How to Play Naruto Tic Tac Toe
Tap an empty square to open the character search, type part of a name and pick someone. If they match both of the square's rules, they are placed on the board; if not, the pick is rejected. A character can only be used once per board, so the easy answers run out quickly.
In Solo, fill all nine squares as fast as you can. A wrong pick costs you nothing but time, and the clock is what the daily leaderboard ranks. Every daily board is checked to make sure a full solution exists. If you get stuck, Give Up (two taps to confirm) fills the remaining squares with a valid answer.
In Versus, players X and O take turns on a fresh board. A valid character claims the square, a wrong answer passes the turn, and the first player with three valid squares in a row wins. An optional 30-second turn timer keeps things moving, and the scoreboard carries over between rounds.
Tips for Filling the Shinobi Grid
Start with the tightest square. Some intersections have dozens of valid answers, while others, such as Byakugan combined with a village other than Konoha, or a rare chakra nature combined with a specific rank, have only a handful. Fill the narrow squares first while their few answers are still available.
Do not waste flexible characters on easy squares. Main characters like Naruto, Kakashi and Sasuke fit many rules at once, which makes them valuable late in the board when only awkward squares remain. Use a minor character wherever one will do.
In Versus, play it like tic-tac-toe as well as a quiz. The centre square sits on four possible lines, so take it early, and block your opponent's two-in-a-row even if the blocking square is harder. When the timer is on, have a backup name ready before your turn starts.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Solo and Versus?
Solo is the daily board, the same for everyone in your era and ranked by time. Versus is a two-player tic-tac-toe match on the same device with a new random board each round.
Can I use the same character twice?
No. Each character can appear only once on a board.
What kinds of rules appear on the grid?
Villages, clans, ranks, affiliations, chakra natures, jutsu types, kekkei genkai such as the Sharingan and Byakugan, status, gender and power level.
Is there a penalty for a wrong answer?
In Solo, no, apart from the time it costs. In Versus, a wrong answer passes the turn to your opponent.
Is Naruto Tic Tac Toe a daily game?
Solo mode is. A new board appears every day at midnight UTC for each era, while Versus deals a fresh random board for every match.
